Mmm… coconut macaroons; recipe by david lebovitz. I thought they were tasty, and I liked the use of unsweetened coconut, buuuut I still prefer the joy of baking recipe over these X:
These are pecan sables (original recipe by Gourmet) As said, they are a sophisticated cookie with a good nutty flavor… Most everyone I fed them to loved them, so I deem these a keeper. They are very pretty but they need the eggwash otherwise they look very pale and bland. They also progressively get tastier as the days go on (as most good cookies do C:)
A sprinkle of turbinado sugar adds a nice sweetness on the outside and crunch. C:
And this is my awesome ginormous mixer (and my possible future armhook). yes, it is delicious.
